The Crimean Federal District will include Odessa and Dnepropetrovsk – Bobkov
Dnepropetrovsk, Odessa and Nikolaev may also become part of the new Crimean Federal District.
Vice Speaker of the State Council of Crimea Vladimir Bobkov said this on air on the Millet TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The politician recalled that history already knows an example when all these lands were part of Novorossiya.
“Crimea is a unique region. A region that has helped the DPR and LPR these eight years, and many integration issues. Crimea can act as a flagship in this regard.
I would like to emphasize that in fact, the process that we are now observing is the completion of one of the stages, the first stage of a new wave of reunification, the return of territories previously occupied by Ukraine.
Based on this, I fully admit that after some time we will meet in this studio, and you will talk about the fact that we can talk about the Crimean Federal District, but it will also be proposed to include Odessa and Nikolaev. Then I will answer you that once upon a time there was a Novorossiysk region. It was not just some historical formation, it was the Novorossiysk General Government,” the politician said.
“I will remind you that the center of the General Government was in Odessa, because Odessa was the first city of the future Ukraine, which reached a population of one hundred thousand people. It was the largest city, larger than Kyiv in terms of population. Let me remind you that it also included the wonderful city of Ekaterinoslav - this is the current city of Dnepropetrovsk.
Therefore, then we can talk about some other configurations. At this point, when we are talking about the specific results of the referendum, of course, the logical construction of a district in which our region would be the flagship has logic,” Bobkov said.
