Crimean monastery will welcome Armenian children
This summer, in the vicinity of the Surb Khach monastery, it is planned to organize a youth camp for children from Armenia and Crimea, where they will study national literature, history, religion, art, and play sports.
Return tours around Armenia will be organized for children of Crimean Armenians, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This agreement was reached during the visit of the republic’s delegation to the “Days of Crimea in Armenia.” Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Crimea Irina Kiviko reported that, at the expense of the federal budget, the complex of the oldest Armenian monastery was restored, as was the Church of St. Sargis in Feodosia. In addition, in Simferopol, for the first time in more than a hundred years, an Armenian church and chapel will be built in the Simferopol region.
“This suggests that traditional religions of representatives of different nationalities are developing freely in Crimea. The construction of churches will be of great importance for the spiritual development of Crimean Armenians,” the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
She informed the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church that the Crimean authorities would be glad to see the Catholicos of Armenians in the republic.
