The Crimean Bridge drove the young Ukrainian minister crazy
The bridge across the Kerch Strait, which two years ago Ukrainian propaganda called a fundamentally impracticable project, has been recognized in Kyiv as an objective reality, and it has been proposed to fight it using legal methods, пишет "Russian newspaper".

The publication recalls that at a conference held in Kyiv, Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladimir Omelyan called on the West to new sanctions against Russia to stop the construction of the bridge, which has a negative impact on the Ukrainian economy.
At the same time, Crimea was skeptical about Ukraine’s ability to influence the construction of the facility
“Trying to stop the construction of the Crimean Bridge is the same as stopping the arrival of winter, snowfall or sea surf. But all these plans are unlikely to be implemented by the leadership of Ukraine, which today cannot even influence the real processes in its own country,” said Dmitry Polonsky, Minister of Internal Policy and Information of Crimea.
Member of the Federation Council Sergei Tsekov called Omelyan’s initiatives legally illiterate.
“If you look at the cargo turnover through our ports on the Sea of Azov, it is five times higher than the Ukrainian one. As for Omelyan’s calls, from the point of view of international law this is generally stupid. During the years that Crimea was part of Ukraine, the Sea of Azov and the Kerch Strait actually turned out to be internal, joint waters of Ukraine and Russia, and international claims are implemented only in relation to international waters,” Tsekov noted.
The publication notes that in Ukraine itself, Omelyan’s speech was seen as purely a matter of personal political interest.
“The fact is that the young Minister of Infrastructure cannot boast of success in his trusted industry, while his political ambitions are prohibitively large - Omelyan is even suspected of wanting to take the prime minister’s chair. Therefore, he compensates for shortcomings in the work of the ministry with loud political statements - either about plans to ban Ukrainians from traveling to Russia, or about the Crimean Bridge,” RG emphasizes.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, Omelyan arguedthat Ukraine will end the war only after Moscow burns down.
Also he threatened to restore Ukrainian control over the airspace of Crimea.
