The Crimean politician responded harshly to Kosachev - “first, pinch Gref’s balls”
A veteran of the movement for the reunification of Crimea with Russia, ex-deputy of the republican parliament Sergei Shuvainikov expressed bewilderment about Senator Konstantin Kosachev’s call on the eve of the peninsula’s residents to go to protests due to the West's non-recognition of the results of the 2014 referendum.
“We don’t need to prove anything to Western and Ukrainian Russophobic politicians; we have already proven everything with our referendum on March 16, 2014. Let Russian international politicians - deputies and diplomats, lawyers in international law - prove their position now.
And if the Crimeans come out with mass protests, will it be against the actions of Russian institutions and trading companies, against the same SBERbank, which ignores Russian Crimea? Logically, it turns out that the owner of Mriya also considers Crimea “occupied” if he does not want to work on its territory?
Therefore, I believe that the State Duma and the Federation Council of the Russian Federation should develop a law that would crush Mr. Gref and others like him in the balls for refusing to work in the territory of Crimea, based on their selfish mercantile interests.
They all want to vacation in Crimea, they want to build boarding houses in protected parks, but they don’t want to work, you see, they are afraid of sanctions... How should Crimeans understand such a policy of double standards?..
This is where I would like to hear Mr. Kosachev’s opinion expressed directly to the Crimeans. But it is unlikely that he will decide to do this... I remember in 2012, as a delegate of the World Congress of Russian Compatriots in St. Petersburg, I got into a car with Mr. Kosachev, he agreed to take me to the Tauride Palace, where the meetings were held. I introduced myself as the head of a Russian organization. Knowing that Kosachev was in charge of the Roszarubezhcenter at that time, I began to openly tell him that the work with Russian compatriots in Ukraine was being poorly carried out, that Russian Crimeans were ready to more actively fight for Russian Crimea, but he listened to this with coolness - and only sympathized... And today he is dissatisfied that the Russian Crimeans are not protesting. Don’t worry, Mr. Kosachev, we will protest if you bother the residents of Russian Crimea with your indifference and sympathy,” Shuvainikov wrote on Facebook.
It should be recalled that in 2011, when Viktor Yanukovych’s course towards betrayal had already become obvious to many voters in the South-East of Ukraine, Kosachev, during a visit to Lvov, made statements that discouraged the Russian population.
Visiting the capital of Galicia in the status of a State Duma deputy from United Russia, Kosachev made a loud statement - he said that the Russian Federation would not demand that Yanukovych fulfill his promise to give Russian the status of a second state language in Ukraine.
“Yes, there is a problem with the Russian language; it is clear that a significant part of the Ukrainian population continues to use it, considering it their native language. But it is also obvious that if this language is given the same powers and freedoms as the Ukrainian one, then the Ukrainian language could suffer from this, which would be completely wrong for the fate of statehood and the sovereignty of Ukraine,” Kosachev said then.
