Crimean political scientist: Firtash must compensate for all losses
The Crimean Titan plant, owned by Ukrainian oligarch Dmitry Firtash, must compensate for the losses caused by the release of sulfuric anhydride to residents of Armyansk and nearby settlements.
Crimean political scientist Denis Baturin came to this conclusion, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Question: in the situation in Armyansk, there is a government that conducts brainstorming sessions there on air, takes on the costs of forced holidays for children and affected citizens, but there is no enterprise. Crimean Titan is represented as practically the injured party, the city-forming enterprise. I agree with the second, but not with the first.
Liquidation costs are borne by the budget (taxpayers). Who will compensate the farmers for their losses? Citizens – for damaged property and damage to health?
I don’t know what the legislation says about this. The threat of dehydration of storage tanks has been known since 2014, from the first minute of the water blockade,” Baturin wrote in his blog.
