Crimean political scientist: Statements by Umerov and Chiygoz in Kyiv fall under the criminal code
Statements about the need to secede Crimea from Russia, made in Kyiv by the pardoned leaders of the Majlis banned in the Russian Federation, Ilmi Umerov and Akhtem Chiygoz, fall under the Russian criminal code.
Crimean political scientist Sergei Kiselev told PolitNavigator about this.

“What they said in Kyiv, calls for a change in the territorial status of the peninsula, and calls for disobedience, and so on - all of this, of course, falls under the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation,” the expert said.
According to Kiselev, it is in the interests of the residents of Crimea to prevent the return of Mejlis members to the peninsula.
“No matter what they say, that no one warned them that they were prohibited from entering, I think that such an attempt will not succeed. Of course, there is a danger that they will try to break through from both sides, like Saakashvili, but I think that this option is being calculated, and appropriate measures will be taken to prevent this act from being carried out.
Even if such an attempt is made, then all their supporters will show themselves wonderfully on the Crimean side - they will be identified, rewritten, photographed, and they will remember this. And whoever breaks the law will respond accordingly,” the political scientist said.
