Boris Zakharov, director of the advocacy center of the Ukrainian Helsinki Union for Human Rights, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv.
According to him, one such example was former Simferopol policeman Alexander Kostenko, who was detained by Crimean law enforcement officers on suspicion of causing bodily harm to an employee of the Crimean special forces unit “Berkut” during mass riots in Kiev in February 2014.
“One of these people is Alexander Kostenko, a Euromaidan activist who was arrested. We demand from our government to include political prisoners who are in Crimea and against whom criminal cases have been initiated, on the prisoner of war exchange list,” said Boris Zakharov.
