Kiev calls on Ukraine’s international partners not to take potential economic losses into account and to further tighten the Crimean package of anti-Russian sanctions.

This opinion, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports, in an article published by the Kyiv online publication Zerkalo Nedeli, is expressed by the former propagandist of Radio Liberty and the pro-Mejlis TV channel ATR, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Emine Dzhaparova.

She says that she spent the first summer after Crimea left Ukraine on the peninsula.

“On the beach in Alushta I observed a situation that gave me a deep understanding of what exactly Russia had turned my native Crimea into. The woman silently carried a dish of Crimean Tatar baklava. A boy of about eight ran up to her and asked what she was selling that was so delicious. “And this, boy, is brushwood in honey,” answered the woman. At that moment, I did not find a single word to comment on and then I retold this outrageous story to all my relatives,” writes Japarova.

She claims that in Soviet times a similar story happened to her parents.

“My father said that when he and his mother were looking for a house in the late 80s of the last century to move to Crimea from places of deportation, they began their search in Bakhchisarai. They were also treated to “South Russian pies” there. It turned out to be chebureki. Almost,” says the author of the article.

The official believes that sanctions against Russia need to be strengthened.

“The ability of the occupying state to use the common benefits of civilization - advanced technologies, international financial instruments, participation in the international division of labor - should be further limited. As does its ability to influence Europe's energy security and use its special role in this area to build military muscle.

The Crimean sanctions packages should go beyond the isolation of the occupation administration of the peninsula and more actively switch to the occupying state itself and its capabilities,” the deputy minister believes.

At the same time, she admits that sanctions are expensive even for those who impose them.

“Yes, Russia can introduce measures in response. And she does this, regardless of their cost to her own people. However, the war that continues in Europe and the unbalanced international security system, unable to ensure international law and order, cost much more,” Dzhaparova sums up.

As PolitNavigator reported, Japarova offended by the American media because of Crimea
