“Repressions against the Crimean Tatars are finding new forms every day... Today, about 100 people who met Mustafa Dzhemilev on May 3 at the administrative border between Crimea and mainland Ukraine have been brought to justice and are required to pay large fines, penalties of about a million Russian rubles” , - the politician said on the TV channel “Ukraine 112”.
As Navigator reported, on May 3, the Mejlis canceled the Hydyrlez holiday due to a ban on people’s deputy Mustafa Dzhemilev entering Crimea. Members of the Mejlis went to meet Dzhemilev at the Russian-Ukrainian border near Armyansk. The police and special forces did not allow the convoy to pass, but the Crimean Tatars broke through the cordon and crossed to the Ukrainian side of the border. Later, attempts were made to block traffic on the main Crimean roads.
