Crimean clients of Privatbank, whose deposits were frozen after the bank left the peninsula, now, after its nationalization, have an extraordinary right to claim their money.

The head of the Council for the Protection of Consumers of Financial Services, Dmitry Duginov, stated this on the air of the “Question of National Security” program.
According to him, for this, investors themselves must take the initiative and demand a return of funds from the new owners.
“This category of bank clients, Crimean depositors, should be the first to whom the state, which nationalized the bank and assumed the obligation to reimburse every penny, should return the money,” he is confident.
Duginov recommends that every Crimean depositor of Privatbank take a piece of paper and contact the National Bank, the President of Ukraine, the Deposit Guarantee Fund and the Ministry of Finance, which is now the wholly owned owner of this bank, with an appeal in which they briefly outline the situation in which they find themselves.
“That is, there was a deposit, it was opened in Crimea, in Privatbank, the money was blocked, applications for the return of funds were repeatedly sent to the bank. If there are already court decisions that have entered into force, indicate this and find out how and how soon the new management of the bank will return these deposits,” Duginov said.
