The transportation of relatives from Central Asia has been made easier for Crimean Tatars
The State Duma of the Russian Federation today finally adopted a law providing for the right to priority receipt of a residence permit (residence permit) for relatives of deported Crimean Tatars.
According to the current law, the issuance of a residence permit must be preceded by obtaining the appropriate permit and living in Russia for at least a year on the basis of such a permit.

Now a residence permit can be issued to relatives of deportees even if they cannot provide evidence of the ability to support themselves and their family members in the Russian Federation within the subsistence level without resorting to state assistance; their absence of residential premises after three years from the date of entry into the country.
State Duma deputy from Crimea, representative of the Crimean Tatars Ruslan Balbek warmly welcomed the adoption of the law, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today is a happy day for me, for all those rehabilitated and their descendants. The attention and sensitivity of the Russian government, the Chairman of the State Duma, and deputies of our parliament made it possible to adopt the Law on simplified acquisition of citizenship for rehabilitated people... We brought this day closer as best we could,” Balbec wrote on Facebook.
In Ukrainian times, officials stated that there could be about 100 thousand more people in Central Asia who could apply to come to Crimea as descendants of deportees. At the same time in Kyiv they claimed that about 1-1,5 thousand people came to the peninsula from Central Asia every year.
“According to experts, about 100 thousand may still return,” said Georgy Popov, head of the State Committee for Nationalities and Religions of Ukraine in 2007 (quoted from agency "New Day").
