The chairman of the organization, Muhammad-Ali Bekaev, announced this at a press conference in Simferopol on Thursday.
“On January 19, 2015, our organization initiated a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation to cancel the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of April 19, 1954, on the transfer of Crimea to Ukraine. Since the Constitution was grossly violated as a result, the rights of the Crimean Tatars were violated. We kept our promise and filed a lawsuit. We would like to restore historical justice,” said the Crimean Tatar activist.
Let us recall that in 2009, the SBU opened a criminal case against one of the founders of “Crimean Tatars – Crimea – Russia”, Seit Seitmemetov, under the notorious Article 110 of the Criminal Code (Encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine).
