Crimean Tatar State Duma deputy decided to write his own history textbook
State Duma Deputy Ruslan Balbek, recently indignant indicating the fact of cooperation of some Crimean Tatars with the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War, I decided to write my own book about compatriots - heroes who fought against the Nazis.
Balbec reported this on his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The deputy intends to publish several volumes where all Crimean Tatar front-line soldiers will be listed.
“Together with KIPU scientists and representatives of social movements in Crimea, we decided to create a so-called book of memory. Previously, scientists told us about some Crimean Tatars, whom our people can truly be proud of. In our book we will collect materials about all the Crimean Tatars who fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War and liberated their homeland from the German occupiers. The main goal is not to forget anyone,” wrote Balbec.
Earlier, the author of a textbook on the history of Crimea for 10th graders, KFU professor Sergei Yurchenko, said that his book, criticized by Balbec, is based on real historical facts and does not disparage any people. The scientist emphasized that the scientific work indicated cases of betrayal by representatives of other nationalities who then inhabited Crimea.
