The Crimean Tatar Majlis will be banned in Russia, as will the extremist Right Sector.
Ex-deputy head of the Mejlis Zaur Smirnov, now chairman of the State Committee for Interethnic Relations and Deported Citizens of the Republic of Crimea, stated this on the air of the talk show “Everything as it is.”

“The Majlis that was will never exist again. And those people who today call themselves “chairman of the Majlis” have not been chairmen of any kind for a long time - they are people’s deputies of Ukraine.
And today, if agreements are concluded with those organizations that are banned in the Russian Federation, which is the Right Sector, then, naturally, the reaction of the security forces will not be long in coming,” Smirnov said.
“I was also in the Majlis. What is Milli Majlis? These were 33 people elected by the people as an executive body - the “Cabinet of Ministers”. There were 250 people in the kurultai, which was elected by the Crimean Tatar people every 5 years. There are many worthy people in both the Majlis and the Kurultai. But those people who started the pseudo-blockade today are 3 people from the 33 Majlis and three from the 250 delegates of the kurultai. They have usurped power and are dictators in this body and are imposing their personal worldview on that part of the Crimeans who do not need them,” said social activist Eyvaz Umerov, in turn.
