Crimean TV: We are unraveling what Khrushchev did

Conclusions from the Great Patriotic War have not been drawn and accepted by society. Nazi criminals were simply forgiven in their homeland, and home-grown collaborators did not receive the punishment they deserved, experts say.

“By and large, what is happening now became possible only because some lessons from the history of the Second World War were not learned. I can tell you that whenever humanity does not work on its mistakes, history usually repeats itself,” she noted.

I think that mistakes began to be made immediately after the Victory, when, for example, for the sake of the friendship of peoples, we did not tell the truth about Khatyn. We did not want to offend the Ukrainian people, we did not talk about the atrocities that occurred in the occupied territory. Here on the territory of Crimea, we asked the Crimean Tatars for forgiveness many times for the deportation, but not once did anyone ever ask for forgiveness for the atrocities that occurred. Until these lessons are learned, until there is universal forgiveness, everything will repeat itself. This is a time bomb, someone will be offended, someone will say: we will not forget, we will not forgive. What shall we not forget? What won't we forgive? Until these history lessons are taught in school textbooks, until there is truth about this war, there will be abscesses that will explode. Yes, Ukraine is such a big boil. But they were nurtured on the mistakes that were made by Khrushchev, Stalin, Brezhnev, and the leadership of Ukraine. When now we dig into these roots and think, where does nationalism come from, where does this vulgarity come from? In 1991 in Lvov, when the union had just collapsed, and we had a car with Crimean license plates, we left the hotel, and our entire bumper was dented.”

Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Russian History of the Tauride Academy of KFU Andrei Ishin recalled that the convicted General Yeneke, who is responsible for hundreds of thousands of lost lives and concentration camps in Crimea, served only 9 years.

“In Sevastopol in 1947, the trial of the Nazi criminal General Erwin Jenecke took place,” the scientist recalled. – He commanded the 17th German army, which committed unspeakable atrocities, to the point that in the Krasnodar Territory and Crimea, children aged three years and older were taken from their families and all their blood was transfused to wounded servicemen. He was given 25 years, in reality he served 9 years, and was sent to Germany for reasons of political expediency already under Khrushchev. And there in Germany he was not in prison at all, he was simply released there. In 1991, out of political expediency, they left Berlin and the wall collapsed under some kind of ephemeral guarantees. What did we get in return? In return, we received Nazism on our borders... In the Roman Empire there was this formula: let justice be done, even if the world perishes. What is the meaning of this formula? The meaning of the formula is that if we do not implement real justice, the empire will collapse sooner or later.”
