Sevastopol, February 23 (Navigator, Elena Ostryakova) - A group of Sevastopol residents decided to go on an excursion to a facility located on Cape Aya, which was popularly called “Yanukovich’s dacha.” This huge building with support services and access to the sea is being built on the territory of a former recreation center, purchased in 2007 from the Ukrainian State Property Fund at a reduced price.

Immediately after the change of ownership, tourists and children's groups stopped passing through the territory of the base. Thus, ordinary people no longer had the opportunity to visit the reserve at the tip of the cape.
It is all the more surprising that this time the curious were calmly allowed through the gate when they said: “We are going to the sea.” Elena Prokina, a participant in the excursion and the chairman of the public organization “Sevastopol Mothers”, told Navigator about this.
Having passed the gate, the “excursionists”, however, moved not to the sea, but to the palace, which shocked them with its size. It was difficult for Prokina to determine the total number of rooms. There is an impressive size swimming pool; the ceiling height in the rooms reaches 15 meters. The walls are made of Inkerman stone, they are more than a meter thick. “Hitler’s headquarters is smoking compared to this building,” commented Prokina. The rest of the building materials are imported and of very high quality.
On the territory of the estate there are about 5 auxiliary premises, there is a small pier on which a structure for a water park is being built. The construction is being carried out sloppily, there are dumps everywhere, relict trees are covered with soil, the community member said.
“This building is two or even three times larger than our Palace of Pioneers. To turn it into a sanatorium for children suffering from tuberculosis or cerebral palsy would be just the thing,” Prokina told Navigator.
