Crimea was advised not to pay attention to Western sanctions
The Crimean authorities should not expect international recognition of the Russian status of the peninsula, but need to build infrastructure today, despite the sanctions.
State Duma deputy Viktor Deryabkin stated this on radio Vesti Sevastopol, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
At the same time, the parliamentarian is confident that sooner or later the sanctions will be lifted.
“I think that, maybe not so quickly, but over time, Crimea will be recognized by the whole world. This is primordially Russian land... The dialogue that our president is conducting at the highest level - both with the President of America and with the leadership of European countries - I think, sooner or later will lead to everyone recognizing: “Yes, this is Russia.” But even if they don’t recognize it, we have a lot to do within the country.
And the bridge, and today I’m driving along the peninsula - and there are so many traffic jams, how many people have arrived in cars, they want to relax. We need to deal with infrastructure in Sevastopol, build and develop hotels, and so on and so forth. What a wonderful airport. There are a lot of things to do within the country and this does not depend on any sanctions - we have something to do here, and we are obliged to do it,” said Deryabkin.
