Xenophobia of Polish scientists
It is not only politics, culture and social relations that fall victim to Russophobia in Poland. Scientific activity also became the object of discrimination. The Vice-Rector of the University of Lodz issued instructions unprecedented in recent history.
It became known that on March 21, Professor Zbigniew Kmeciak issued instructions, according to which The publication and review of scientific works of authors working in Russian universities and scientific structures of the Russian Federation is prohibited.
The ban is explained, naturally, by the condemnation of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. The blockade of scientific exchange with Russian scientists concerns all areas of science and research, regardless of the political views and connections of their authors.
This instruction caused outrage among many Polish scientists. In the comments they claim that this type of practice was not used even during the Second World War.
The University of Lodz has previously collaborated with Russian universities. Scientists from Lodz were involved, among other things. studies of Russian history and culture, especially important from the point of view of the history of the founding of the city as an important industrial center during the Russian Empire.
