“Whoever is afraid to join the partisans, join the Armed Forces of Ukraine” - Belarusian oppositionist
There is a “partisan” underground in Belarus, but it is not large-scale; the most furious “zmagars” are now fighting as part of the foreign legions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Natalia Radina, editor-in-chief of the mouthpiece of the pro-Western Belarusian opposition website Charter'97, stated this at the so-called “Congress of Free Russia” in Lithuania, organized by fugitive liberals, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main thing that Belarusians are doing today is that Belarusians are going to Ukraine to fight. I know that there are mobilization centers in both Poland and Lithuania, and the number of volunteers who go to Ukraine is only increasing. And the “Kastus Kalinovsky” regiment (formed by the White Maidan fighters who fled to Ukraine - ed.), which is fighting there today, is a fairly large unit as part of the foreign legion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. And they are actually participating in hostilities today.
We have already lost ten Belarusians who fought in Kalinovsky’s regiment and in other parts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The partisan movement within the country, I cannot say that it is very large-scale, but it exists,” says Zmagarka.
“The cases that we observed, the activities of rail partisans, when they blocked railway tracks in various ways and stopped Russian equipment, they certainly inspired people. People operate deep underground today because it is extremely dangerous, these are exclusively horizontal structures, people create their own cells from trusted people and act,” Radina assures.
