Moscow - Kyiv, July 21 (Navigator, Mikhail Stamm) - Even the conclusions of the ICAO will not put an end to the dispute about who shot down the Malaysian airliner over Donbass, writes Kommersant. The United States and the OSCE are already saying that they are being prevented from studying the crash site, which gives rise to speculation in the future.

The first representatives of international organizations to arrive at the crash site of the Malaysian Boeing 777 on Friday were 17 members of the OSCE mission to Ukraine. However, they failed to start full-fledged work right away, writes Kommersant. On the first day, the militia guarding the crash area gave the experts, according to their testimony, only a little over an hour to study the site of the tragedy. And the Secretary of the OSCE Mission to Ukraine, Michael Bochurkiv, said that at the scene of the tragedy, in addition to the organization’s experts, there were people with an unspecified mandate. “We don’t know what kind of experts these are. Contacts are very limited,” complained Michael Bochurkiv. “There are a lot of well-armed people here.” They are watching us closely.”

This gave Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko a reason to announce that “European experts are being prevented from working.” And US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki complained that “parts of the plane and other debris are being taken away, and potential material evidence is being damaged.” These statements may well be a prelude to subsequently not recognizing the conclusions of international experts.

“Even the conclusions of the ICAO, no matter how authoritative this organization may be, will not put an end to this dispute,” Sergei Oznobishchev, director of the Institute for Strategic Assessments, told Kommersant. “It is obvious that the party or parties that disagree with these conclusions will rush to challenge these conclusions, citing that the experts did not have all the information. At the same time, Western pressure on Russia will in any case increase.”
