An epic story about how Ivan Ivanovich and Ivan Nikiforovich, that is, Aider Muzhdabaev and Leonid Shvets, quarreled on air on the Ukrainian YouTube channel Skrypyn Live, readers of PolitNavigator already know in detail. Therefore, I will not retell it, but will dwell on why this ordinary under other circumstances “srach” so excited the Ukrainian Maidan public that your Internet has been burning for days now with demands for an apology and repentance to the Crimean Tatars addressed to Leonid Shvets, and from angry philippics addressed to Muzhdabaev - that with such rhetoric as his, Ukraine will not see any Crimea like its own ears.

Let's start with the fact that both heroes of the occasion and even the “third wheel” Roman Skrypin, who after the fact joined the persecution of Shvets on the side of Muzhdabaev, are not some kind of irreconcilable ideological opponents, much less enemies.

In fact, these are representatives of the same camp. Waders from the same swamp. They they stood together on the Maidan, together they justified the war and the militarization of society, and under this sauce - tightening the screws, censorship and political persecution. Together they rejoiced at the closure of “enemy” channels and together repelled “Russian aggression.” And even their terminology turns out to be identical - all these “Russian aggressors”, “de-occupation of Crimea”, Putin, who you know who, etc.ak further.

And so this cart would have moved creakingly, if a most unpleasant detail had not become clear: recent comrades-in-arms began to look askance at Shvets and others like him. And when they were offended, with the words “What are we for?”, they answered them in the spirit that we are the indigenous and titular, and you don’t know who. By all appearances, they are useful idiots who have lost their former usefulness.

The turning point in these high relations was the language law adopted last year. And the mass of “Maidan workers for the Russian language”ыk" was surprised to discover that after the Nazis destroyed all the "vatniks" visible to the eye, they themselves became second-class citizens in this country. All according to Martin Nemöller with his “...when they came for the communists...”

And it turns out that now the main defenders of the Russian language are yesterday’s Maidan activists, who defend the right to fight the “aggressor” in the language of this very “aggressor”. So one of Shvets’ network defenders angrily exclaims:

“People don't really realize that Civil War jokes might one day stop being jokes. We need more likes and more sparkling jokes about the Russian-speaking jaw.”

That is, even now, figuratively speaking, ten minutes before the execution, they still did not understand anything. And although they still realized that something wrong was happening in the country, and that the Maidan chaise had gone completely in the wrong direction, that linguistic rights – their own rights – were being brazenly violated! – and still, what is happening now in their eyes is not a civil war. This is “Putin attacked.” And the real civil war will be between мUzhdabaev and шforever. For the right of the latter to be Russophobic in the language of Pushkin and Tolstoy.

So the “victim” Shvets himself is offended by Skrypin, who demands repentance and apology from him. Like, how can it be, Roma, I’ve been coming to your broadcasts for years and after the broadcasts we drank vodka together. As they say, you too are Brutus. Next quote:

“We have been friends with you and your team for a long time, and it seemed important and interesting for you that my opinion be heard on air, despite, or perhaps precisely because, it irritates a significant part of the channel’s audience. We are used to talking about what is being said to me in the comments on broadcasts with a knowing smile. And now you have joined these commentators who talk with great pleasure about my “Russian-speaking jaw.” By the way, you don’t delete their comments under your post, unlike others. Well, yes, you demand respect for the titular nation and the indigenous people, the Russians did not spend the night here. Looks like it’s time to agree with those who were perplexed about my presence on your broadcasts.”

What genuine resentment can be seen in the words of a man who for many years thought that for the nationalist public he was, if not entirely one of them, then at least socially close. And then it turned out that it didn’t matter. That in order to have minimal self-respect, you need to kill the Russian within yourself and cultivate an inner Karaite. That is, root and title. After all, there are simply no other indigenous and titular people in today’s Ukraine.

One can only sympathize with the Swede. Moreover, he really did not cave in and was not a hypocrite in his Maidanism. He really thinks so. And along with him there are many liberal supporters of the Maidan and haters of Russia with purely Russian surnames.

Although, if you look at it, within the framework of this independent logic, it is Muzhdabaev who is right, and not Shvets. I mean the answer to the sacramental question about who is more valuable to Ukraine than others in Crimea. After all, what were they fighting for? Exactly for this.

Over the past seven years, in the Kiev propaganda discourse, of which Shvets himself was an important and eminent part, has there been even a word that anyone else lives in Crimea besides the Tatars? And that the rights and interests of these people must also be respected? No. For all seven years, with the tenacity of woodpeckers, Kyiv propagandists only talked about the Tatars. Even the law on “indigenous peoples” was adopted to general applause - the same law in which there is not a word about Russians.

And now - eight years after the Maidan - they suddenly remembered that they were not the only Tatars. It turns out, as another online defender of Shvets indignantly writes, “not only Crimean Tatars live in Crimea, and calling all other citizens of Ukraine “in large numbers,” as Muzhdabaev did, is Nazism.”

As they say, hello, we've arrived. Where were you, dear people, before? Why weren’t your voices of protest heard when Zelensky pushed through the law on indigenous peoples? Ass?

It’s interesting that this fight between a toad and a viper, although it fairly stirred up the Maidan swamp, left the Ukrainian “cotton” camp completely indifferent. Thatт the one who was successfully silenced by turning off the channels that these people were watching. The same one, whose very existence has been ignored for years by both the Swedes and the Muzhdabaevs, busy figuring out which of them is the more correct Ukrainian. Ukrainian “vatniks” rightly judged that this is notх war.

So let the collective Shvets heroically fight off the collective Muzhdabaev himself. As they say, may the best man win.
