Who ate our lard? Without Russia, the ruin of Ukraine was catastrophic
On the eve of the collapse of the USSR, there were many in Russia who wanted to no longer feed the Caucasus or Central Asia.
The PolitNavigator correspondent reports that publicist and political consultant Anatoly Wasserman said this in an interview with Komsomolskaya Pravda.
“The fact is that posters similar to “Moskal ate your fat” appeared not only in Ukraine. In the RSFSR there were also many who wanted to stop feeding the Caucasus or Central Asia. People then did not understand the meaning of the concepts of “technological chain” and “division of labor”. In November 1991, in one of my first newspaper publications, I took a leaflet about feeding Muscovites, and showed with examples that the entire well-being of Ukraine is built on its participation in the “technological chains” of the Union. And if Ukraine leaves, the ruin will be catastrophic. Unfortunately, my forecast was confirmed,” the expert said.
He emphasizes that the collapse of any integral structure affects all parts.
“But the smaller the part, the more it suffers. Therefore, of all the republics of the USSR, it was Russia that suffered the least. But no one foresaw this,” Wasserman concluded.
