This was announced by the head of the information department of the Right Sector, Borislav Bereza.
“At the moment, Donetsk airport is protected by the forces of the 93rd Brigade and the Right Sector. And by the way, the brigade commander of the 93rd brigade said that if the Right Sector withdraws from there, then we will withdraw too,” he said on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
“It is unclear why we are holding this airport, and it is unclear why there is no active support. Everything there was destroyed, it’s impossible to land there, but we must understand that recovery requires a week, maximum two, to restore the landing strips. Filled it up and restored it. However, I suspect that there is some other reason unknown to us why we are holding, maybe a strategic point, maybe there are some agreements, may be something else. As I learned from our fighters, one building there was completely destroyed, in fact there is nowhere to hide, but the boys are holding on, holding on. The guys said that they had completely cleared one of the existing terminals. That is, terrorists entered this territory and were cleared out,” Bereza said.
