“According to the investigation, in 2013, over 1 billion rubles of policyholders’ funds were stolen and transferred to Cypriot offshore companies. The main person involved in the investigation is businessman Viktor Pinchuk, the son-in-law of ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma. It was he who controlled the activities of Rossiya OSJSC since 2009,” – the report said.
According to the publication, the case was initiated under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale).
TV presenter of the Ukrainian channel “1+1” Alexander Dubinsky believes that, thus, Russia “is increasingly squeezing some organs of President Kuchma, the representative of Ukraine in the trilateral contact group in Minsk.”
“More specifically, they took his son-in-law, Viktor Pinchuk, by the balls,” notes the TV journalist.
