Kuchma laments: Anti-Russian sanctions do not work, Crimea does not want to return
The state of affairs in Ukraine cannot motivate Crimeans to want to return to this country. Former President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma stated this today in Kyiv at the Yalta European Strategy conference.

“Today we understand that Russia will not give up Crimea just like that. But a lot depends on you and me. If Crimeans look at what is happening here, what battles are going on in the highest echelons of power, please tell me, do they have a desire to run to us? Let's look at ourselves from the outside and act accordingly. Then there will be order,” Kuchma said.
He believes that the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia do not work, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Russia even thanks for the sanctions. They are now introducing the technologies themselves that the West is not giving them. We are pushing them to do this. They understand that you can’t get far with oil and gas,” Kuchma said.
