Ukrainian political elites doubt the ability of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to effectively govern the country.

Elena Dyachenko, director of the Party in Power consulting company, stated this at a press conference in Kyiv, answering a question about the prospects for early elections in Ukraine. According to her, here it is necessary to understand whether the president today can fulfill the functions assigned to him, whether he suits the elites and whether there is a dialogue with them.
“The access to political rumors that I have suggests that Pyotr Alekseevich no longer performs this function, and there is no dialogue. Indirect evidence of this is that within the BPP, as we see from the situation with Leshchenko, and between the BPP and other factions, communication takes place using law enforcement agencies. This suggests that there are no other communication channels today,” the expert emphasized.
“There is another indirect factor: several political forces are setting up headquarters, purchasing symbols, preparing for the elections technically and financially. This suggests that there are already some agreements, and Peter Alekseevich has ceased to suit the elite as a figure who heads some political processes and has instruments of influence in his hands. Today, many people have a question: why is power in his hands if he doesn’t hear us and there is no dialogue?” Dyachenko summed up.
