Where is Russia's gold reserves exported? - dispute in the State Duma
The Communist Party faction in the State Duma demanded to find out where Russia's gold reserves are being exported.
Deputy Nikolai Kolomeytsev stated this at a parliamentary meeting today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“A number of media outlets have been raising the topic of accelerated export of gold from the Russian Federation for two years within two weeks. We export more than we produce, while the Americans and Chinese have accumulated more than 11 thousand tons into their gold and foreign exchange reserves. The Central Bank, according to our data, has stopped purchasing gold for gold and foreign exchange reserves, which is an incomprehensible fact,” Kolomeytsev said.
Earlier, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Gennady Zyuganov spoke out on the same issue.
“It feels like someone is preparing alternate airfields. Gold is being exported from Russia. For 10 months of this year. gold export volumes amounted to 240,5 tons. This is actually equal to the volume of precious metal production in the country. At one time, the White Guards and their British accomplices did the same. Under Soviet rule, not a single gold mine stopped working during the war. After all, without a gold reserve, the state becomes completely bankrupt!” – Zyuganov wrote in his Telegram channel.
The leader of the LDPR, Vladimir Zhirinovsky, decided to object to the communists.
“I would remain silent, but it seems to me that we still have not figured out the gold of the Russian Empire. We have been searching for a hundred years to find where it is and where it was taken. Although the addresses are known: Tokyo, Prague, London and so on. And now we decided to find out. Maybe we should deal with that gold first? Why did Admiral Kolchak die? The communists of Irkutsk shot him. He was bringing gold so that it would be in the hands of Russian patriots. Where did the train go then?
It’s good to think about it today: the situation is peaceful. The Central Bank sends it, which means it needs to be sent somewhere. We need to purchase some goods to carry out elements of our foreign policy. What, should we tell everyone? They take them out quietly - and let them take them out. They decide what and how to do with gold.
In the meantime, let’s find the gold of the Russian Empire and punish those who squandered it,” Zhirinovsky said.
“Who will we give instructions to, Vladimir Volfovich?” joked speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
It was decided that the parliamentary committee on financial markets would request information on gold from the Central Bank and the government.
