Kudrin proposes raising the retirement age for women by 8 years, for men by 5
Russia has moved towards a trend of continuous decline in the working-age population. Therefore, it is necessary to attract the labor force of people over 60 years of age, which means raising the retirement age. The head of the Center for Strategic Research, ex-Minister of Finance Alexei Kudrin stated this today, speaking at the Gaidar Forum.

“It is very difficult for such a country to start economic growth. We propose increasing the retirement age for women to 63 years, for men – to 65 years,” he said.
According to him, by 2030, the youngest generation in Russia will decrease by 10 million people, and the older generation will increase by only 3 million. And this takes into account the influx of migrants.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, Maxim Topilin, stated that raising the retirement age in 2017 would affect only civil servants.
