Kuleba threatens Russia with punishment from the Baltic “sprats”
For Ukraine, it is not enough just words of support in its confrontation with Russia - it needs practical steps. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba stated this at a press conference following a meeting with the foreign ministers of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the head of Ukrainian diplomacy, the West must give Russia a clear sign that its actions against Ukraine will be “very painful.”
“Of course, and I spoke about this openly on Monday in Brussels, in the North Atlantic Alliance, and I remembered this today in communication with colleagues, that words of support are not enough.
I have no doubt that Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania are always ready to support Ukraine not only in words, but also in concrete deeds. But I also asked my colleagues that they, as members of the European Union and NATO, talk with other members of these organizations about the need for practical support for Ukraine.
It is important to make it clear to Russia that the consequences in the event of military adventures on its part will be very painful,” Kuleba said.
The heads of foreign policy departments of the Baltic countries who spoke after him used standard phrases about non-recognition of the “annexation of Crimea”, “occupation of Donbass” and Russia’s responsibility for what is happening in the region.
