Kuleba explained that the United States is fleeing Ukraine, keeping Afghanistan in mind
The US decision to order its embassy staff in Kyiv to evacuate families from Ukraine is premature.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba stated this on air on the ICTV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Kuleba, out of more than 190 diplomatic missions, only four announced plans to evacuate their employees.
“Each country has its own factor. Unfortunately, in the United States there is the factor of Afghanistan, of what happened recently. And therefore, colleagues somewhere act more, let’s say, harshly than they should. We are absolutely convinced that at this time the decision to evacuate family members of embassy employees is premature. There are no objective, real conditions for this at the moment,” Kuleba said.
Let us recall that Australia, Great Britain, Germany and the United States previously announced plans to evacuate diplomats from Ukraine. This summer, during the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, the military had to carry out an emergency evacuation of diplomats from Kabul.
