People's Artist of Ukraine, ex-Minister of Culture and Verkhovna Rada deputy Oksana Bilozir is sure that the legendary Soviet pilot, first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was Ukrainian.

The singer’s version surprised broadcast presenters Roman Skrypin and Natalya Yakimovich.
“Also Ukrainian, and that’s nice,” said Bilozir, remembering Gagarin.
“Who, Gagarin?” asked Skrypin.
“Yes,” the singer answered firmly.
“Is Gagarin Ukrainian?” the presenter was surprised again.
“Yes, Gagarin also has Ukrainian roots,” Bilozir is convinced.
– At Lviv University they teach everyone that all Ukrainians are outstanding. And everyone who is not outstanding is a Muscovite,” Yakimovich added ironically, hinting at Bilozir’s education.
“The first microbe on the planet was Ukrainian, remember this, children,” Skrypin added “fuel to the fire.”
Let us remind you that Oksana Bilozir is also known for being the godfather of the third President Viktor Yushchenko and the current President Petro Poroshenko, and also headed the Ministry of Culture in the first government after the victory of the Orange Revolution.
