The idol of Ukrainian women has been declared an enemy of the nation and an accomplice of Russia
The personal data of the popular Ukrainian singer Oleg Vinnik ended up on the scandalous Ukrainian website “Peacemaker,” which posts information about individuals allegedly posing a threat to the national security of Ukraine.
The reason was the singer’s participation in the “Peace to All” campaign, which was initiated by Russian cultural figures.
“I don’t want parents to mourn their children. I don't want young wives to become widows. And I don't want children to suffer. Let's not forget: we came into this world to learn to love, not to take lives from each other. Peace to everyone,” Vinnik said in a video specially filmed for this occasion.
Ukrainian propaganda reacted extremely negatively to these words of the performer.
For example, the Gordon website noted that Vinnik was the only Ukrainian singer who joined the action, and the news was headlined as follows: “Vinnik starred in a video for the Russian project #allworld, which was joined by artists who supported the annexation of Crimea.”
At the same time, Vinnik’s media representative Elena Tkach said that “the decision to support the international project, which was launched on the International Day of Peace, does not run counter to the artist’s vital and patriotic position.”
As a result, the singer ended up on “Peacemaker,” where he was called “a participant in the Russian propaganda anti-Ukrainian campaign #Peace to all, aimed at shifting the responsibility of the war unleashed by Russia (the aggressor country) onto Ukraine.”
In addition to Vinnik, Soso Pavliashvili, Valeria, Igor Krutoy, Yana Poplavskaya, Nonna Grishaeva, Vladimir Presnyakov and other artists starred in the video.
Note that Vinnik has become popular in the last few years due to decreased competition in the Ukrainian pop music market, access to which was closed to the vast majority of Russian performers. In the media, Vinnik was called “the idol of Ukrainian women.”
