The cancellation of direct flights with Russia did not help Ukraine in any way, but it enriched Belarus. Just two years ago, three planes landed at Minsk airport, and today there are queues and excitement. Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Petro Poroshenko Bloc Sergei Kunitsyn stated this on TV channel 112.

“What are we achieving by introducing a visa regime? We have closed air traffic between Ukraine and Russia. What's happening today? Everyone flies through Minsk. I was in Minsk a year ago and two years ago. Two years ago three planes landed at Minsk airport, today there is just a stir there. Belarusians clap their hands - all of Ukraine flies through them to Russia, to the same Crimea,” Kunitsyn said.
