The Ukrainian army, the revival of which Petro Poroshenko constantly talks about, is today worse armed and dressed than the Soviet army during the war in Afghanistan. People's Deputy from the BPP Sergei Kunitsyn stated this on TV channel 112.

According to him, Ukrainian soldiers fight only thanks to the “spirit of patriotism.”

“Our army fights more due to the greatest spirit of patriotism. When we were deployed to Afghanistan 30 years ago, they brought us three trains of equipment straight from the factory - BMP-2 and BTR-70. They changed our clothes, changed our shoes, evaporated all our clothes from fleas and lice, gave us new weapons, although we were already well armed. That's how it was 30 years ago. We in Afghanistan were head and shoulders better armed than our army,” Kunitsyn said.
