“On September 1, the third international gathering of internationalist warriors took place in Moscow. I, as the head of the All-Ukrainian Association of Afghanistan Veterans, and three other veterans, including also the UDAR deputy Vitaly Krutiy, came there. In order to tell everyone what is happening in Ukraine. We were driving and didn’t know whether they would let us in or not, whether they would arrest us or whether they would arrest us? And when we entered, with yellow and blue badges, with stocks, with awards, the whole hall, 500 people, stood up,” Kunitsyn said on the Shuster-Live program.
“We were seated on the presidium and congratulated for not being afraid to come. If we had not existed, Ukraine, of course, would have been squashed, because such events were being prepared. But they gave me the floor, and I said - here in front of you are Bandera, the fascists, the junta has arrived. I told them – we have legal power, parliament, government. A man who lived on 150 hectares with parrots and started bloodshed escaped, and they tell you who is fighting,” the deputy recalled his Moscow speech.
“I told them that a week ago I was in Donbass and met with your captured soldiers; one was sent to the hospital in Kharkov, because otherwise he would have died. I asked them if they knew that their soldiers were buried without signs and simply wrote: “Soldier No. 1”, “Soldier No. 2”? I told them that if we fought together, we would have shot ourselves in ’89 if we had known that brother would kill brother. Therefore, we need to show honor and appeal to the presidents of Russia and Ukraine with a request to immediately sit down at the negotiating table and stop this bloodshed and madness. Everyone voted yes, and then everyone came up and just tore us apart. They said - guys, Ukrainians, Moldovans, Belarusians, Kazakhs - hold on. If you surrender, they will crush us too,” Kunitsyn said.
