Kunitsyn in Kyiv talks about the heroic defense of Tuzla and the collapse of Russian resistance
Former Crimean Prime Minister Sergei Kunitsyn, who fled to Kyiv and has recently resumed public activity, uses the role of the main fighter for the Ukrainian peninsula, hoping that the gullible public is not aware of how in the past Kunitsyn deceived Crimean voters with pro-Russian slogans.
The day before, on the air of the NewsOne TV channel, Kunitsyn began to convince viewers that by 2003, pro-Russian sentiments in Crimea had completely disappeared - as evidence, he cited the fact that Ukrainian officials organized the defense of Tuzla without any hindrance from the local population.
Kunitsyn forgot to mention that the renaissance of pro-Russian sentiments was ensured by the “Orange Revolution” of 2004, after which the speaker himself ran for the Crimean parliament under the slogan “for an alliance with Russia,” which subsequently did not prevent him from getting a job subordinate to Viktor Yushchenko.
“Why did we protect Tuzla in 2003? Despite the fact that someone was there. Do you know what was significant for me at Tuzla? That not a single pro-Russian organization in Crimea and Sevastopol supported Russia’s actions in Tuzla. Nobody spoke.
And Putin realized in 2014 that without the “little green men” Crimea could not be conquered. Because despite the fact that the majority of ethnic Russians in Crimea and Sevastopol are 58% and 72%, they are really mentally different people, they are used to living with Ukraine. And no one supported Tuzla.
Just as they tell me: “If Crimea had not been a Republic, it would not have been captured.” Were Donetsk and Lugansk republics? There were regions,” the ex-official summed up.
