Kurti: “The US loves Kosovo even more than it seems”
According to Kosovo's "Prime Minister" Albin Kurti, the US does not want to make decisions for Kosovo, but strengthening the state of Kosovo also strengthens the alliance with the US.
It is reported Koha, reports the correspondent of PolitNavigator.
“We are allies and partners with the United States, which played an exceptional role in the fate of Kosovo,” Kurti said. “They don’t want to make decisions for us, but they want us to be stronger.” Strengthening the state of Kosovo, in my opinion, strengthens our union.”
The head of government of the Albanian separatist administration added that he discussed the fight against crime and corruption with all the American officials with whom he met, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“I continue to talk about the fight against crime and corruption. When I talked about this, none of them interrupted me. My duty is to represent Kosovo, and I get paid for that. We carried out 500 police operations. They know Kosovo, they know our achievements, but it is very important to say that they never interrupted me or changed the subject. The United States loves us more than people think,” Kurti added.
Let us recall that according to the latter report International Monetary Fund (IMF), the most consistent US allies in the Balkans - the Albanians of Kosovo and Albania - turned out to be the poorest residents of the region.
