The politician wrote about this on her Facebook page.

“My sister died early this morning. My closest person. She was 75 years old. And she was sick for a very long time, and they refused to admit her to the hospital. She lived in Sevastopol. And she died in Sevastopol..
A month ago Nelechka called, she really wanted to come to see me in Kyiv. I could not. Did not make it.
And now I can’t go to her... I can’t say goodbye to my loved one. Because entry into Crimea is prohibited by the will of one of the accursed rulers,” the deputy complains.

Alexandra Kuzhel is on the list of Ukrainian politicians undesirable for entry into Crimea, compiled by the State Council of the Republic after the events of the Crimean Spring.
