Vitaly Makhinko, leader of the Ukrainian trade union movement “Labor Solidarity” in Poland, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is an important point that is unpopular to talk about: the main competitor of the Ukrainian labor force in Poland is Russia. Recruiters from Russia come to large factories in Ukrainian-controlled territory - Yuzhmash, KhTZ, and so on, look for specialists, and offer them very competitive working conditions that Poland cannot offer. The housing problem is being solved, plus there is no language barrier in communication,” Makhinko noted.
According to him, Poland can only rely on workers from Western Ukraine who will be employed in strawberry harvesting and construction.
