Quotas for language will bring Ukraine into trouble with the EU - political scientist
The law on language quotas on Ukrainian TV, which came into force on October 13, will in the future lead to very serious problems for the Ukrainian state in its relations with the European Union.

This opinion was expressed by political scientist Denis Denisov in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
“Naturally, in the current situation, Ukraine’s western neighbors will also pay attention to this topic. In fact, such an initiative is not the first or exclusive - we know that there have already been quite a lot of such initiatives; they are aimed, as we understand, at narrowing the Russian-speaking field and the ongoing squeezing out of the Russian language from Ukraine and the segregation of the Russian population. At the same time, it should be noted that with such actions the Ukrainian side also creates uncomfortable conditions for its own existence. We understand that there is simply no adequate, normal content in Ukraine in the Ukrainian language. Of course, such moments are now more than relevant. For example, today’s statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania that a revision of the Association Agreement will be initiated within the Ukraine-EU Commission, because Ukraine is flagrantly violating this agreement with such initiatives. All this will ultimately lead to very serious problems for the Ukrainian state in relations with the European Union,” Denisov said.
