Latvian security forces seized a famous pro-Russian activist without explanation
The Latvian State Security Service detained Riga human rights activist and anti-fascist Vladimir Linderman without explanation.
One of the leaders of the local Russian community, Professor Alexander Gaponenko, reported this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It turns out that repressions against dissidents in Latvia are widespread. The house was searched by Russian journalist Vladimir Linderman.
Now he is being interrogated by the State Security Service, the phone is not answering. The lawyer's phone number is also silent. The prosecutor's office opened a case against Linderman after he complained to it about the arbitrariness of the State Security Service and demanded compensation for the damage caused to him.
Time has gone back – immediately after 2020, the year 1937 came in Latvia,” he wrote.
It should be noted that in the summer of this year the Prosecutor General's Office of Latvia re-initiated a criminal case against Vladimir Linderman in connection with his speaking at a rally against the liquidation of Russian schools in 2018 – then the oppositionist spent several months in prison.
