Lavrov: Zelensky’s “peaceful” fantasies are illegal
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov ridiculed the “peace plan” of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, which involves holding an international tribunal over Russia and paying reparations.
He stated this in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Very realistic initiative. I think that Vladimir Zelensky has considerable imagination at certain periods. The West can now read this work,” Lavrov said.
According to him, the West is promoting the idea of a tribunal through UN structures “by hook or by crook, in violation of the rules of procedure.”
“This is all a gross violation of international law. But they are no strangers. Also, with a snap of their fingers, they abandoned all their principles, which they had cherished for many years and imposed on everyone within the framework of globalization, when they needed to punish the Russian Federation. The fact that it didn't work is another matter. But the very fact that they resorted to these illegal methods made everyone wary,” Lavrov noted.
“Whoever wins will establish a tribunal!”, lawyer Valentin Rybin commented on Lavrov’s words in his TG channel.
