(Moscow time), Moscow
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov laughed it off when answering a question from a correspondent from South Africa at a press conference at the UN, who asked whether Russia was going to lure South African farmers.
“We are interfering in the elections in Catalonia, so there is not enough time, it is too far,” Lavrov said.
South Africa is now implementing a new policy of land expropriation. People may lose their farms without any compensation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Yesterday, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, who is in the US, threatened to hold elections in Catalonia “if the independence movement chooses conflict.”
