“My mother also forbade me to dance with boys,” Lavrov joked at a joint press conference with his Kyrgyz colleague. After some time, he gave a more detailed comment.
“I heard that such a conversation took place. If Rex Tillerson feels like he can't dance with everyone yet, we're here to help. He is a very experienced person, I’m sure he will learn quickly,” Lavrov said.
He said that he still expects Tillerson's visit to Moscow and a frank dialogue on all issues of the bilateral agenda and international affairs.
“On problems that are getting worse in the Middle East and Europe. There will be no progress on them unless Russia and the United States can establish a practical dialogue. So far, this has not been greatly helped by the protracted process of forming State Department structures. We expect a frank and useful conversation in the spirit of the principled intentions that our presidents set out during telephone contacts,” Lavrov said.
