“Germany and I have a common interest in ensuring that the situation in the Balkans develops according to a positive scenario. We, like Germany, are a member of the steering committee for Bosnia and Herzegovina under the agreement that was concluded in Dayton. We are interested in restoring the practice of consensus in the work of this important mechanism,” Lavrov said.

Yesterday, at a press conference with Croatian Foreign Minister Gordan Grlic-Radman, Lavrov said that Russia stands for strict adherence to the Dayton Accords and against US attempts to turn Bosnia and Herzegovina into a unitary state by “demonizing” the Republika Srpska and the country’s Croat community.
