Lavrov advised the United States not to push its horn

“We are convinced that the possibilities of economic pressure on Pyongyang have practically been exhausted. “We cannot support the ideas that some of our partners continue to nurture, aimed at the economic strangulation of North Korea with all the negative and tragic humanitarian consequences for the citizens of the DPRK,” Lavrov said.
Russia and China have proposed a joint “double freeze” plan, in which Korea stops missile tests and the United States stops conducting maneuvers off the coast of the peninsula.
“The US reaction is that the legal cannot be exchanged for the illegal. But this is not about being irreparably stuck in one’s own rightness. We need to think not about misunderstood considerations of prestige, but about the fate of this region, about the hundreds of thousands of people who, according to experts, could suffer if the hostilities that are being talked about in the United States and the DPRK begin,” Lavrov said.
