Lavrov demanded a tough response to Ukraine’s provocative statements
Provocative statements by the top Kyiv leadership about the need to rewrite the Minsk agreements should not be left without a strong reaction, including from the guarantors of the document, France and Germany.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this during a joint briefing with his Danish counterpart, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We also talked about the crisis in the East of Ukraine. We have a common position here - that it needs to be overcome on the basis of the implementation of the Minsk agreements in full in the form in which they were approved by the UN Security Council.
In this regard, we drew the attention of our colleagues to statements coming from Kyiv at the highest level about the need to review and redo the Minsk agreements, both in substance and in terms of the sequence of actions. This is unacceptable, and we very much hope that our European colleagues, primarily France and Germany, as co-authors of the Minsk package of measures, will not leave such provocative statements without a strong public reaction,” Lavrov said.
