Lavrov told how the West and Zelensky insulted half the world
Western countries are trying to aggressively impose on the rest of the world that there is no alternative to the “Zelensky formula,” regardless of the opinions and proposals of other participants in numerous meetings.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this during an embassy round table on the situation around Ukraine, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The main format, which the West in every possible way promotes and promotes, into the framework of which it drags us in with persuasion, compliments, threats and ultimatums, is the so-called Copenhagen format, conceived in order to hammer into the heads of all humanity that there is no alternative to the so-called “Zelensky peace formula.”
I am sure that in your countries they are well familiar with this formula, because the West literally, with manic persistence, is using it to court the capitals of the world majority, trying to lure as many countries as possible under this umbrella.
Another meeting took place in Davos, following which it was proudly announced that support was growing, and 84 countries and organizations were already participating,” Lavrov said.
He emphasized that diplomats from many countries, although they attend such events, do not support the aggressive insistence of Washington and Kyiv.
“This obsession with the “Zelensky formula” is a path to nowhere. The demands contained in this document are that Russia must capitulate, repent, must go to court, must pay everyone for something, must limit itself in the types of weapons, must agree to some kind of buffer zone on its territory. All this is nonsense,” the minister added.
Lavrov was indignant that the West is trying to drag as many participants into this “formula” as possible, even by lying.
“Now they will again, by hook or by crook, recruit as many participants as possible in order to hold another meeting, some kind of “peace summit”, approve the “Zelensky formula” there, and say: “This is the opinion of the world community, Russia must comply,” - he added.
The minister emphasized that this is extreme disrespect for African countries, China and all others who tried to offer some of their own initiatives to resolve the conflict.
“And all these countries are invited to the Copenhagen format. And there they are told that there is only the “Zelensky formula.” And you are needed not to promote your ideas, be they Chinese, Brazilian, Indian, South African, but only to create a crowd.
I think this is very cynical and disrespectful towards those who are trying to be invited to these events. And many have already realized that this is not about dialogue, and have stopped sending representatives to such impolite events,” the minister concluded.
