Lavrov told how the West was amazed at the speed of the CSTO deployment
The peacekeeping potential of the CSTO showed its “effectiveness and relevance” during the suppression of the rebellion in Kazakhstan.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this at a press conference today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The West looked in amazement at the speed of deployment of units... I really hope that I will no longer have to use this experience, but we must keep our gunpowder dry. God forbid, something happens, we must be prepared, because there are plenty of attempts from outside to undermine the situation in Central Asia and other CSTO countries,” the minister noted.
“These attempts became more persistent and risky after the Americans fled from Afghanistan along with the rest of NATO members, leaving this country in the state in which it now finds itself, when it will still be necessary to restore the state,” Lavrov said.
