Lavrov: Russophobia is an inseparable feature of the essence of Europe
The Russian Foreign Ministry is now paying special attention to the protection of compatriots abroad.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated this in an interview with the Rossiya-24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“They experience regular physical attacks. This is being discussed in Western capitals and at meetings of Western embassies here. Some of our good friends (I don’t want to give anyone away) tell us that they are expressing serious concern about manifestations of Russophobia in Europe. They say this is wrong and spoils the image of the EU.
I would say it does not spoil, but complements. Because the instantaneity with which this Russophobic wave was launched suggests that latent racism has not disappeared from Europe. When Ukrainian leaders, almost ministers, declare that a good Russian is a dead Russian, and Europe should ostracize all Russians, these are serious things,” Lavrov said.
According to him, now the Compatriots Defense Fund will receive additional funding to be able to pay for the services of lawyers for the injured Russians.
